Rebecca and Christine Johnson
Midwest was founded in 1980 by my Mother, Rebecca Johnson. We are a second generation, family and woman owned business. She retired in 2004 and passed the company to me. Upon her retirement, she left me with plenty of great advice, but the most valuable piece was “to stay true to your word”.
Midwest values providing superb service that goes above and beyond the call of duty. We operate with a high level of professionalism, which is key in an industry with a dreadful reputation among contractors. What stands out about us is that we have more than thirty year’s experience which ensures delivery to the contractors. Without the general or prime contractor, there is no subcontractor.
In recent years, we shifted emphasis from the private sector to the public sector of construction. That shift proved successful with the award of two major subcontracts between 2007 and 2009; a $1 million subcontract with L. Krupp Construction for the Clayton Road Improvements project in 2007, and another $1 million subcontract on “The New I64″ project for Gateway Constructors & Fred Weber, Inc. in 2008. In 2010 we expanded our services and customer base to Southeast Missouri.
Midwest takes business development very seriously. My staff and I are continually looking into regulations and laws that directly affect business and researching better ways to do a familiar job.
